Available from July through September and
November through February depending on the seasons set by the
Washington State department of Fish and Wildlife.
King Salmon
are considered by many fishermen to be the premier Pacific
Northwest Sport fish as well as one of the best for table fare.
The King
Salmon
swimming in the pure Pacific waters just off of our dock don't
come any bigger, brighter or fresher. King
Salmon
can be
caught by Trolling, Mooching or jigging and are typically found
within the top 30ft of the water in the early morning and then
drop down to the 75ft to 125ft depths as the day progresses.
Silver/Coho

are most definitely the crowd pleasers.
Silver
Salmon along
with the
King
Salmon
are
also one of the most coveted Sport Fish for Pacific Northwest
anglers. Catching
Silver
Salmon
is
relatively simple. Trolling is by far the most popular method
but just about any offering that flashes, wiggles, twitches and
looks like a Herring or Candlefish will get grabbed by a
ravenous
Silver
Salmon.

Saltwater is rapidly gaining in popularity and is definitely an
exciting challenge. Silver
Salmon
are notorious
jumpers and flashy, surface shattering battles ensue when one is
hooked. The
Silver
Salmon
around
Neah Bay average a hefty 10 lbs by late August.
Halibut,
Ling Cod and Black Rockfish
Collectively
and commonly known as bottom fish.
Halibut
are the no#1 species on the menu for most deep water anglers
followed closely on the most wanted list by the toothy and tasty
Ling Cod.
Halibut
range from 15lbs on up to 100+ lbs around the Neah Bay area and
can get as big as 400lbs !!
Ling Cod
average 6-10 lbs with
"Ling's"
in the 25lb+ range being caught on a regular basis from May
through July. Halibut
are typically caught in deep waters ranging from 140 ft to 400ft
deep. Ling
Cod
can be
caught just about anywhere from under our dock and the inshore
kelp beds and on out to the deepest holes where the Halibut
live.
Black
Rockfish,
Greenling, Canary
Rock Cod and a variety of other tasty bottom fish are available
throughout the summer and are easily caught on rubber grub tail
jigs and various cut baits.
